Welcome to Real Weddings at Yorebridge. These features highlight some of the amazing couples who tied the knot at our venue in the Yorkshire Dales. Our real wedding features showcase our happy couples by introducing their love story and hearing first hand their experience of saying I do at Yorebridge House.
Lockdown bubbles tested many relationships, but for Poppy and Tom, it only brought them closer… literally!
After two years exploring Australia, Tom returned home just before the height of the pandemic. A Bumble match with Poppy quickly sparked their romance, and a shared bubble allowed their relationship to blossom quickly! In 2021 they took the plunge and bought their first home together where they welcomed their dog, Brian.
Their shared dream of visiting Japan became a three-week adventure across the country. In a quiet park in Kyoto, Tom got down on one knee, captured perfectly by the pre-planned photographer. The joy of the moment grew as they celebrated with a bowl of ramen and continued exploring the city.

There is no denying that Yorebridge House was fate for Poppy and Tom. After inspiration struck from a couple of accidental drive-bys of weddings at Yorebridge that looked amazing, Poppy and Tom felt that the scenic and tranquil location was the perfect fit for them. With a welcoming wedding team, idyllic packages, delicious food and the fact that dogs are welcome, their minds were made up.

Poppy and Tom chose to have their wedding celebrations spread over the course of three days allowing their loved ones to relax and fully enjoy the moment together.
“Looking back, this was definitely the best decision that we made, as it didn’t feel like the event went by too quickly and we managed to spend time with all our loved ones over the weekend.” – Poppy Cantello
The ceremony took place in the Meadows under gorgeous Yorkshire sunshine, framed by stunning white floral arrangements of hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus and baby’s-breath. Following the outdoor ceremony, guests were welcomed into the tipi to eat, dance and celebrate with the band late into the night. The evening had a cosy and intimate setting while Brian roamed freely in his bow tie, he couldn’t have been happier!

With the refined guest list, Poppy and Tom were able to weave in character-filled touches that made the day uniquely theirs. A Lego seating plan with carefully chosen minifigures representing each guest guided everyone to the wedding breakfast. Hanging from a 2.5m floral hoop, 700 individually folded origami cranes were an incredible addition to the décor and the personalised neon sign became the perfect photo backdrop.
Finally, for the favours, each guest received a bottle of wine made by Poppy’s stepdad with a custom label of Poppy and Tom’s engagement photos and a succulent – a lovely, personal touch that guests could take home!

Our gorgeous bride stunned in an Emma Louise Bridal gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and delicate floral appliques. The fitted silhouette struck a balance between classy and romantic while the matching detachable sleeves and veil transformed the look from day to night.
Our dashing groom modelled a sleek black three-piece Whitfield and Ward suit, elevated by a pocket watch, bow tie and a beautiful boutonniere. The timeless fit of the suit complemented his personality with fun details adding character while keeping the overall look polished.
The bridesmaids fashioned elegant forest green and olive green satin dresses with a halter neck detail. The A-line cut of the dresses with the tie detail at the back added a playful element that suited the running theme of the wedding. The groomsmen all matched in three-piece black suits with a crisp bow tie, patent black brogues and beautiful boutonnieres.

After heart felt vows and plenty of mingling, it was time to sit down and indulge in some good food. To start, guests were served venison carpaccio with pickled shimeji and chocolate. The main course that followed was Wensleydale lamb with fondant potato and creamed cabbage. Dessert brought a custard tart with nutmeg and a raspberry sorbet. The menu was a hit with all the guests, even the self-confessed picky eaters, but the newlyweds’ personal favourite was the venison carpaccio.

Photographer, Bethany Clarke, made everything so easy as her candid style suited Poppy and Tom perfectly. Her professionalism and experience shone throughout the day, allowing it to flow idyllically. Even during the few staged photography moments, she fit herself into the day seamlessly.
Videographer, Vita Wedding Films, captured all the best parts of the day and guided the happy couple through his creative vision with such confidence that they included elements they hadn’t even considered. Josh was a pleasure to work with and, much like Bethany, blended into the background to ensure every moment retained its natural, candid feel.
Brian’s participation in the special day was something Poppy and Tom always hoped for but didn’t think possible. Annabel, the dog chaperone from Pawfect Occasions, was wonderful with Brian and immediately put any worries at ease knowing he was in safe hands. Thanks to her, Brian featured in some of the wedding photographs, joined for their first dance and even took the role of Ring Bearer which wouldn’t have been possible without Annabel.
Harriet Jane was entrusted with curating the floral arrangements for the day and she did not disappoint. From initial ideas to mood boards and, finally, to reality, Poppy’s vision was transformed into a stunning bouquet and arrangements that were even more beautiful than she imagined. The bouquet was such a hit that she has since had it preserved and framed, where it now hangs in their lounge.
