Welcome to Real Weddings at Yorebridge. These features highlight some of the amazing couples who tied the knot at our venue in the Yorkshire Dales. Our real wedding features showcase our happy couples by introducing their love story and hearing first hand their experience of saying I do at Yorebridge House.
Richard and Melissa got engaged on the 14th of August 2022, beginning a beautiful new chapter in their story together. Shortly afterwards, they started searching for the perfect wedding venue, excited to find a place that felt just right for their special day. As life unfolded, their search naturally paused while they embarked on another exciting adventure, moving into their first home together and beginning this new chapter side by side under one roof.

For our happy couple, finding their dream wedding venue was never a decision to be rushed. After viewing a number of beautiful venues and embracing some significant life milestones along the way, Melissa and Richard knew they had already found the one in Yorebridge House. From the very beginning, the team were warm and welcoming. Their relationship with Sophie and her wonderful team quickly began to blossom, leaving them feeling completely at ease and in the safest of hands.

The celebrations began with a wonderfully relaxed morning at Yorebridge House. Our bride and groom prepared for the day in elegant suites surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The wedding team listened carefully to how they wanted everything to feel and set it all up exactly as they had envisioned, without question, allowing the day to unfold with complete ease.
With exclusive use of the house and grounds, the celebration moved effortlessly through the beautiful spaces, each moment flowing naturally into the next. Under blue skies, they exchanged vows in the Meadow before sitting down in the Orangery for their wedding breakfast and speeches, framed by sweeping views of the grounds. As the sun set, the evening gathered everyone around the fire pits, before the celebrations carried on with dancing late into the night.
One of the most memorable touches for their special day was the luxury of arriving the night before, the wedding morning felt unhurried and full of anticipation. There was a gentle ease to the start of the day, with time to enjoy the surroundings and prepare in the company of those closest to them, making the lead up feel just as special as the celebration itself.
Later in the day, the gardens offered the perfect setting for guests to spill out after the ceremony, creating a natural space for relaxed conversation, congratulations and those unplanned heartfelt moments as the newlyweds made their way around to greet everyone.
As the day moved into the evening, guests gathered around fire pits beneath the open sky, chatting and laughing which made for a lovely end to the celebrations.

Melissa looked effortlessly elegant in a beautiful fit-and-flare gown, with a flowing train that fell softly behind her and created a wonderfully flattering silhouette. Delicate button detailing ran down the back, while the softly draped cowl neckline added a romantic touch. Her look was finished with a chic low bun and delicate silver and pearl jewellery, giving a timeless and refined feel.
Richard wore a dapper three-piece suit in a soft, spring-inspired palette, with the jacket, trousers, and waistcoat all in a muted light grey-beige tone that felt both relaxed and effortlessly polished. Paired with a crisp white shirt, the look was lifted by a light green tie, adding a hint of colour and a subtle sense of personality that perfectly suited the season.

After a day spent celebrating in the sunshine, everyone came together to enjoy a beautifully relaxed wedding breakfast shared with family and friends. The meal began with a Wensleydale and tomato tart, followed by a main course of Nidderdale chicken with tarragon and mushroom, showcasing a comforting nod to local flavours. To finish, a passionfruit cheesecake served with ginger and mango sorbet provided a light and refreshing finale to the dining experience.
Photographer Sally Thurrell was warm and welcoming, making guests feel at ease with the camera on them. She captured natural moments without anyone realising as she floated around seamlessly.
