Welcome to Real Weddings at Yorebridge. These features highlight some of the amazing couples who tied the knot at our venue in the Yorkshire Dales. Our real wedding features showcase our happy couples by introducing their love story and hearing first hand their experience of saying I do at Yorebridge House.
Jay and Lucy’s story began in a very modern way, with two simple right swipes that led to an online match and an easy, instant conversation with genuine connection. When the pandemic arrived just as things were taking off, it only brought them closer together, with Jay moving in and, as it turned out, never leaving.
On Christmas Eve 2023, Jay proposed beneath a starlit sky in Costa Rica. At the foot of a volcano, while soaking in a hot tub, Lucy said yes. It was intimate, magical and completely them, adventurous and romantic, all rolled into one.

Bainbridge has always been a special part of Jay and Lucy’s story, a place tied to happy memories and moments they’ve shared over the years. Choosing Yorebridge House felt completely natural, almost as if it was meant to be, with the Yorkshire Dales providing a beautiful backdrop that already held so much meaning for them.
One detail made the choice feel even more perfect, the warm, dog-friendly welcome. Their beloved Teddy, was able to be part of the celebrations, which meant the world to them – it simply wouldn’t have felt complete without him padding happily through their special day.

Jay and Lucy made the most of the winter beauty the Yorkshire Dales had to offer, taking time to wander hand in hand through the private grounds and nearby surroundings. It was a quiet, unhurried moment together, capturing photographs that felt natural, romantic, and effortlessly picturesque.
The intimate nature of their wedding meant the day unfolded at a gentle pace, with time to truly take everything in. Guests who had never met before found themselves deep in conversation with friendships formed over glasses raised and stories shared. It was the kind of day where everyone felt not just invited but truly included.
As evening fell, the celebration moved onto the dance floor, where everyone came together to mark the occasion. Surrounded by their loved ones, the bride and groom shared their first dance as Fairytale of New York played, bringing a joyful, nostalgic finish to a winter wedding filled with love and meaning.

The team at Yorebridge House ensured every part of the day felt thoughtful and personal by bringing everything together with real care and attention. From sourcing a requested drink all the way from Finland to adding subtle festive details that beautifully embraced the winter season, nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
Our newlyweds felt comfortable in the knowledge that everything was being looked after behind the scenes, allowing them to fully relax and enjoy every moment with their friends and family, completely at ease in the celebration.

Lucy found her dream dress at Barn Bridal Boutique, a design that perfectly balanced elegance with a touch of sparkle. Featuring bardot sleeves, a plunging neckline and delicate floral appliqués that caught the light beautifully, she looked effortlessly radiant. One of her favourite details was the subtle shimmer throughout the dress, which came to life on the dance floor and added a playful element to the look in the evening.
Jay chose a dark blue and beige three-piece suit from Dapper Chaps, finished with a subtle herringbone texture for a refined, modern look. Paired with tan brogues and a white rose boutonniere for a wintry touch, his outfit felt perfectly considered and effortlessly stylish for the day.

Their wedding breakfast was a celebration of comforting and indulgent classics. The meal began with a rich and flavourful Wensleydale tart, followed by roast beef served with the most indulgent beef butter, a dish that felt both hearty and elegant and was complimented by all the guests. For dessert, it could only be sticky toffee pudding, a beloved staple and the sweetest ending to a truly unforgettable day.

South West Band turned Jay and Lucy’s wedding day into a private gig for their enjoyment. From a collection of mainstream pop to a select few Christmas songs, to pure 2000’s pop-punk and metal music, the dance floor didn’t have a quiet moment. It couldn’t have been more perfect for them.
