At Yorebridge House in Bainbridge, we are a dog friendly hotel at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales countryside. Our boutique hotel comes with dog friendly rooms, private grounds beside the River Ure and some of the best dog walking trails in England right outside the door.

A handful of rooms at Yorebridge House are dog friendly and they are just as luxurious as the rest of the hotel. Rangali has wooden floors, a spacious wet room style shower and its own private terrace, ideal for letting your dog wander around outside while you get ready for dinner. Jasper, styled with a Canadian lodge feel, sits across the courtyard from the main house with its own private staircase, exposed beams and a roll-top bath with views over the Dales. The Barn Suite is also dog friendly, with its own separate setting a short stroll from the main house and plenty of space to settle a dog in for a few nights.
We do ask that you let the team know your dog will be joining you when you book, so everything is ready for you both on arrival. The main communal areas are kept dog free, but with room service on hand a cosy evening in together is always easy to arrange.

The hotel sits within its own private grounds beside the river, with lawns and terraces perfect for a wander before breakfast or a slow evening walk once the day’s hiking is done. There is enough space to let a dog potter about and take in the scents of the countryside without needing to plan much further than the garden gate. The riverside setting means there is somewhere for them to paddle and explore.
After time in our grounds, enjoy some time in our beautiful countryside setting. Wensleydale is home to some of the best dog walking trails in England and Yorebridge House is well placed for it. Reception keeps a set of local walking leaflets covering routes of varying length through the surrounding villages and countryside.

A mile from the hotel, Mill Gill is a hidden waterfall reached by a gentle riverside path. A few dog friendly pubs sit along the way. Bainbridge itself sits at the foot of Wether Fell. It’s an easy climb straight from the village, perfect for bigger views without a long drive first.
Wensleydale is sometimes called the valley of the waterfalls. Several are within easy reach. Cotter Force near Hawes is a short, level walk to a series of falls tucked away in woodland. It’s dog friendly and easy going too. Aysgarth Falls is a short drive away. Its limestone cascades tier dramatically down the River Ure. Hardraw Force is reputedly England’s highest single drop waterfall. It’s accessible on lead through the Green Dragon pub in Hawes, for a small entry fee.
For bigger days out, head to Semerwater and the surrounding Raydale. It’s a beautiful circular walk beside North Yorkshire’s second largest natural lake. Bolton Castle is a short drive towards Redmire, with its own grounds to explore. The Pennine Way also passes close by through Hawes, for anyone wanting to join a proper long distance trail.
Dog friendly bedrooms and suites. Private grounds beside the River Ure for a quick stretch of the legs before breakfast. Doorstep walks that range from a short stroll to Mill Gill to a full day out at Semerwater or Bolton Castle. Yorebridge House has been built with four legged guests in mind as much as their owners. Come back from a muddy afternoon on the fells to a warm welcome and a luxury suite waiting. There’s nothing left to do but settle in by the fire and let the dog do the same.
Genuine countryside on the doorstep. A boutique hotel comfortable enough to make the whole stay feel like a treat rather than a compromise. That combination is what makes Yorebridge House one of the best dog friendly hotels in the Yorkshire Dales. Whether it’s a weekend spent chasing Wensleydale’s waterfalls or a longer stay taking in Semerwater and the Pennine Way, there’s a room waiting at the end of it. A walk and a fireside spot too, for both ends of the lead.
